Terms of Service

By accessing or using the RatedStylists platform ("Platform"), including our website, mobile applications, and any related services (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use our Services.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you", or "your") and RatedStylists Ltd ("RatedStylists", "we", "us", or "our"), a company registered in England and Wales.

By creating an account, making a booking, or otherwise using the Platform, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

RatedStylists is an online platform that connects clients with beauty salons and independent stylists across the United Kingdom. Our Services include, but are not limited to:

• Browsing and searching for salons and beauty professionals
• Viewing salon profiles, services, pricing, and reviews
• Booking appointments for beauty treatments and services
• Managing bookings, including rescheduling and cancellations
• Leaving reviews and ratings for completed appointments
• Receiving notifications and reminders about upcoming appointments

RatedStylists acts as an intermediary platform connecting clients with salon businesses. We are not a salon or beauty service provider. The actual beauty services are performed by independent salons and stylists who are solely responsible for the quality and delivery of their services.

To access certain features of our Platform, you must create a user account. When creating an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
• Maintain and promptly update your account information
• Keep your login credentials secure and confidential
• Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if we reasonably believe that you have violated these Terms, provided false information, or engaged in fraudulent or abusive behaviour.

Salon Accounts: If you register as a salon or business owner, additional terms may apply. You are responsible for ensuring that all information about your salon, services, pricing, and availability is accurate and up to date.

When you make a booking through RatedStylists, you enter into a direct agreement with the salon or stylist for the provision of beauty services. RatedStylists facilitates this connection but is not a party to that agreement.

Booking Confirmation

All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation by the salon. You will receive a confirmation notification once your booking has been accepted. A booking is only confirmed when you receive this confirmation.

Cancellation Policy

• Free cancellation: You may cancel or reschedule your booking free of charge up to 24 hours before the scheduled appointment time.
• Late cancellation: Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the appointment may incur a cancellation fee, as determined by the salon's individual cancellation policy.
• No-shows: Failure to attend a confirmed appointment without prior cancellation may result in a charge of up to the full service price.
• Salon cancellations: If a salon cancels your appointment, you will receive a full refund of any prepaid amount and be notified as soon as reasonably possible.

Individual salons may have their own cancellation policies which will be displayed at the time of booking. Where a salon's policy differs from the above, the salon's policy shall apply and will be clearly communicated before you confirm your booking.

RatedStylists supports various payment methods for booking beauty services. By making a payment through our Platform, you agree to the following:

• All prices displayed on the Platform are in British Pounds Sterling (GBP) and include VAT where applicable.
• Payment may be required at the time of booking (prepay) or at the salon after your appointment (pay at salon), depending on the salon's preferences.
• You authorise us to charge the selected payment method for the total amount of your booking, including any applicable fees.
• We use industry-standard encryption and security measures to protect your payment information.

Refunds

Refund eligibility depends on the circumstances of the cancellation and the applicable cancellation policy. Approved refunds will be processed to your original payment method within 5-10 business days. If you are dissatisfied with a service, please contact us within 48 hours of your appointment and we will work with the salon to resolve the issue.

Platform Fees

RatedStylists does not charge clients a booking fee for standard appointments. Salons pay a commission or subscription fee to list their services on our Platform. Any applicable fees will be clearly disclosed before you complete a transaction.

RatedStylists allows clients to leave reviews and ratings for salons and stylists after completing a booking. By submitting a review, you agree that:

• Your review is based on a genuine experience with the salon or stylist
• Your review is truthful, accurate, and not misleading
• Your review does not contain offensive, defamatory, or discriminatory language
• You grant RatedStylists a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, display, and distribute your review on our Platform
• We reserve the right to remove or edit reviews that violate these Terms or our community guidelines

Only users who have completed a verified booking may leave a review. We take the integrity of our review system seriously and actively monitor for fake or fraudulent reviews.

All content, features, and functionality of the RatedStylists Platform, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio clips, software, and the compilation thereof, are the exclusive property of RatedStylists Ltd or its licensors and are protected by United Kingdom and international copyright, trademark, patent, and other intellectual property laws.

• The RatedStylists name, logo, and all related marks are trademarks of RatedStylists Ltd. You may not use these marks without our prior written consent.
• You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, or exploit any content from our Platform without our express permission.
• Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you provide to us may be used by RatedStylists without any obligation to compensate you.

You agree not to use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the Platform. Specifically, you must not:

• Use the Platform for any fraudulent or illegal activity
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform, other users' accounts, or our systems
• Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to extract data from the Platform
• Interfere with or disrupt the Platform or servers or networks connected to the Platform
• Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or any other malicious code
• Harass, abuse, or threaten other users, salons, or our staff
• Post false, misleading, or deceptive content, including fake reviews
• Use the Platform to solicit business outside of the RatedStylists ecosystem

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• RatedStylists provides the Platform on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
• We do not guarantee that the Platform will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
• We are not responsible for the quality, safety, or legality of services provided by salons or stylists listed on our Platform.
• Our total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to your use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
• We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law.

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

We comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. By using our Platform, you consent to the collection, use, and processing of your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Before initiating any legal proceedings, you agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting us at legal@ratedstylists.com. We will endeavour to resolve any complaint or dispute within 30 days.

If you are a consumer, you may also be entitled to use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform or refer a dispute to an approved alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider.

We reserve the right to modify or update these Terms at any time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you via email or through a notice on our Platform.

Your continued use of the Platform after any changes to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should discontinue your use of the Platform and close your account.
